Dutch Language: Erasmus Intensive Language Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Dutch is a Germanic language that is spoken by approximately 23 million people world-wide. Most of these live in the Netherlands and in Belgium, but Dutch is also spoken in Surinam and on the Dutch Antilles.
This crash course in Dutch for beginners offers you the opportunity to learn the Dutch language fast and well. It covers the four skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking. During the course you will also get familiarized with Dutch customs and manners. Course activities include talks, dialogues, pronunciation and grammar exercises. Cultural excursions are part of the course as well.
After completing this course, students can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases. They will be able to introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live and people they know. Students will be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

COURSE DIRECTOR
TARGET GROUP
Students who have been selected for an Erasmus study/placement period in the LLP/Erasmus programme in the academic year 2012-2013 in the Netherlands (More information). Comenius Assistants can also participate, provided that there is a surplus of places on a course. No previous knowledge of Dutch is required.
