European Union and Funds
The two-week course will be held in Summer School Almere, organized by CAH Almere University of applied Sciences.
The European Union plays a silent but very important role in our lives. Sometimes, especially in crisis time, the working of the EU is more apparent, but how does the EU work, what does it do and how do outsiders view the EU? Those questions and many more will be answered in this course. To give an overview what this course is about the following key words:
- European Union
- EU Law
- EU Agricultural policy
- EU and the world
A trip to Brussels and a stay there during one night is part of this course.
COURSE DIRECTOR

People who are seeing the influence in their daily work, like government employees will benefit from this course, because background of their work becomes clearer. Students especially interested in political sciences and economics will increase their knowledge and will have a great time with the other participants in the course.
The first aim is to introduce and deepen the knowledge in a number of typical EU policy areas, e.g. agricultural policy and regional policy. Another aim is to practice writing EU tendering proposals.
Class sessions will be primarily focused on lectures, best practices and class discussions. Student participation in class discussions is an integral part of the class and it is therefore expected of every student. Students are encouraged to ask questions, actively participate in discussions, and comment on reading and lecture materials. Moreover they are expected to have completed all assigned readings prior to each class in order to actively participate in class discussion.
