The fashion industry is a sector in constant expansion that has become one of the most dynamic, fascinating and competitive in the world. The course gives an understanding of fashion design, current and emerging branding strategies and innovation practices in the different sectors of the industry. Based on case studies of famous fashion enterprises contents such as the branding and marketing of the fashion product, retailing, design, innovation, eco fashion and sustainability, CSR in fashion etc. will be discussed.

This course is perfect in case you want to make your Summer experience in Barcelona even more complete. Learn how to communicate in Spanish by taking our beginner course. The course will introduce you to the basics such as the alphabet, spelling, and Spanish phonetics. We will also deal with the numbers, nouns, the applications of the verb to be and to identify you and describe experiences to others.

During the course a satisfactory analysis of the methods, techniques and tools for Project Management is accomplished.

One course in two cities! The course targets students from both social and technical studies. They will partly follow different tracks. The focus of the first week is on discovering the state of the art in this field. The focus of the second week is on actually developing and testing robots in teams of students with different (technical/non-technical) backgrounds.

Intensive English language course focuses on the following skills, reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar. Cooperating with international students and the international study environment at Summer School Almere creates the maximum scope for improvement of English language skills. The course provides excellent support for students who need a bit of extra help with the English language.

The food safety summer school aims at developing specialist in food safety auditing in 2 weeks. The program includes a very intensive training and combines several approaches: interactive lectures, literature study, excursions. The goal is developing knowledge and competences on the field of quality and food safety and increasing awareness on several perspectives.

In this course, the student will improve her/his own literary writing skills through reading and writing exercises. Writing: Any genre is allowed; the main focus will be on poetry and short prose. Reading: Poems and short prose by famous European writers from all times and places, with a special on Dutch contemporary poetry (English translations provided).

23-07-2012 – 03-08-2012European architecture through ages This course examines the fundamental styles of European architecture from Ancient Rome to the present day modern architecture. We will go through time by visiting major architectural sites of Ancient Rome, Gaudi’s Barcelona and modern Almere.

For persons working in the public area, at ministries, provinces, regional authorities or municipalities, or even students, it has become increasingly important to know what the influence of the European Union is on their work. On a daily basis we deal with rules and regulations created by the EU that you probably don’t even know. Many are interested in the EU and its workings but also in the funds they provide for many projects. Students in this course will learn all about the EU and how funds projects are constructed and implemented.
